Written in camp near Edward's Ferry (possibly in Virginia). Dana, Colonel and Acting Inspector General, writes to Stewart, Assistant Adjutant General, Corps of Observation. Supports unspecified charges against Colonel George W. B. Tompkins, 2nd New York State Militia. Includes notes concerning Tompkins's muster and pay rolls for Company B to be used as evidence.
