Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Lists men in the New York artillery corps by rank and status, where they are on duty, who is on the staff, among others. Of the thirteen commissioned officers, one is a major (present and fit for duty), two captains (one fit and the other on staff), etc. Includes totals and number of those returning and discharged. Watermarked with three fleur-de-lis inside a seal and "EUL (?) 1780" underneath.
