At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Transmitted by yesterday's post $5,160 in bank notes to Henry Jackson, agreeable to William Duer's directions. Says that Royal Flint put in his hands two maps, one of the coast of New England and another of the coast around Desert Island. Supposes they are the maps he has inquired about.
