Marked "copy." Written from several different locations. The first letter, dated 13 February 1789, from Worcester Shire, England, from Thomas Compson, asks his brother Joseph to pay Samuel Ogden a sum of money due Ogden from a debt owed by their father. Also contains Ogden's authorization to pay the money directly to James Webber. The next notes, written on 10 July 1789 and 25 June 1789, contain details of the transaction written by Joseph Brettall, agent of Joseph Compson, and signed also by William Gibson, Notary Public, and Henry Gibson and Robert Johnson, witnesses.
