Discusses the affairs of the late Captain Lieutenant Samuel Treat, and how his heirs would receive the money and estate. Also includes a certificate giving his heirs the right to his possessions. Both the letter and the certificate are written and signed for Knox in the hand of Samuel Shaw, Knox's aide de camp.
