Contains two letters. The first is undated, by George Armstrong, written to his mother from Port Hudson, Louisiana. Encloses a piece of a rebel flag that he acquired from a Confederate gun boat (not present). The second, on verso, is dated 29 January 1863 and written to an unknown recipient by Etta Reese from Pulaski, Tennessee. Reese's letter contains a fragment of a poem.
