A note at the bottom of a bond of Catherine Evans tells John Lawrence that Galloway does not object to Lawrence "delivering up of yr above mentiond Bond." Galloway, a delegate to Congress from Pennsylvania, publicly defended the Stamp Act in 1765 and became a Loyalist officer in 1776.
