Grant, Commander-in-Chief of the United States Army, writes to Generals Meade, Commander of the Army of the Potomac, and Butler, commander of Army of the James. Grant praises General Philip Henry Sheridan on his victory in the Battle of Fisher's Hill 21-22 September 1964. Writes "Order a salute of one hundred guns, shotted, at day light tomorrow morning in honor of Sheridan's second great victory." Written on Headquarters, Armies of the United States stationery.
