Sherman writes to Ord about the Vicksburg campaign, explaining why he considers Vicksburg the hardest problem of the war. He comments on the location of the corps of Generals McPherson, McClernand and Hurlbut, and wishes Ord had a corps. Sherman also discusses the weather conditions and how he would be glad to see Ord.
