Photograph enclosed in a letter from Lew Wallace to A. E. Allen. The letter (GLC07740.01) identifies the individuals in the portrait as (from left to right) General Thomas M. Harris, General David O. Hunter, General Augustine V. Kautz, Brevet Brigadier General James A. Ekin, General Lew Wallace, Mr. John Armor Bingham, General Albion P. Howe, Brevet Colonel Charles H. Tomkins, General Joseph Holt, Mr. Henry Lawrence Burnett, and General Robert Sanford Foster. The photograph is mounted on board along with the letter and four newspaper clippings. The extent described is that of the actual photograph.
