At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Printed by Roger C. Weightman. Boone sought a grant of land in the Missouri territory. The committee cites Boone's service to the United States, his willingness to face peril, his contribution to western settlement, and his current state of poverty. Authorizes that Boone's wish is granted, and that he receive a grant of land. Also states that the committee has corresponded with the legislature of Kentucky regarding creation of a Boone memorial. This pamphlet's pages are separated.
