O-72. Lincoln holds a newspaper in his left hand and his spectacles in his right hand. This is a variation of O-71 in which Lincoln's right hand is lower. Graphite inscription on verso "17," "O-72D," "54,"and "Meserve-Sandburg Aug. 9 1865." Photographers imprint on verso: "Gardner Corner 7th & D Streets Washington D.C."
