Written from Benton Barracks in St. Louis. Colonel Bonneville, commandant of barracks at St. Louis, writes to Haynie, Adjutant General of Illinois. Inquires as to what company and regiment of the Veteran Reserve Corps James Henry Baker belongs. Notes that a descriptive list from Washington, D.C. indicates that Baker served in Company H, 21 Illinois Volunteers. The list notes Baker may have been transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps 15 January 1864.
