Written from Fort Washington, present-day Cincinnati, Ohio. Writes that in the course of his duties, he has offended Captain Ford, but wants to assure him that no cause for offense was given. Has enclosed some materials explaining his case. Suggests that before he goes away, Wilkinson interferes on his behalf, as he is afraid Ford may attack his reputation or harm him physically in public.
