The Gilder Lehrman Institute welcomes you to fall and the start of the school year with recent news about summer happenings, exciting introductions to programs and resources for students and teachers, and a reminder of the centrality of the Affiliate Schools Program to the Institute and its engagement with educators and learners all around the world. The National Endowment for the Humanities has awarded the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History a Summer Institutes for K–12 Educators Grant for an innovative two-week residential program on American history from the late fifteenth to the nineteenth century for thirty-six elementary and middle school teachers.

 The Hamilton Education Program Online (EduHam Online) returns to all schools with students in grades 6–12 for the 2022–2023 school year. Completely adaptable for remote or hybrid learning, the program encourages students to use their newfound knowledge of the founding era to create original pieces—a song, rap, spoken word, or scene—using primary source documents like Lin-Manuel Miranda did in writing the musical Hamilton.

Registration is now open for fall courses in the new Gettysburg College–Gilder Lehrman MA in American History—an affordable, fully online master’s degree program, led by renowned, award-winning historians, that brings together the leading non-profit American history organization and one of the nation’s top liberal arts colleges. The Fall 2022 term begins September 22, 2022, and ends December 14, 2022.
