Includes a description of George Washington's 30 April 1789 inauguration as the first President of the United States, held in New York City, with a printing of his Inaugural Address (page 3). Contains a column on the political state of America, and a printed Congressional debate on a molasses tax. Includes a letter from Dennis Ramsay, Mayor of Alexandria, Virginia, bidding President Washington farewell from his Mount Vernon estate, followed by Washington's reply (page 4).
