At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

One wirephoto released by Canadian Press dated September 11, 1962. Shows nine men sitting and ducking on a roof as a biplane flies over them. The embedded press release states that pilot, Les Kerr, demonstrated hedge hops, a low level flying technique used when crop dusting. The display was a part of an air show in Ladner, British Columbia.
