One wirephoto released by Associated Press dated November 15, 1957. Shows a map of the lower half of the United States, Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Panama Canal, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Trinidad, Guyana, Portugal, Spain, Azores, Morocco, Canary Islands, Algeria, Libya, French West Africa, Nigeria, and the Ascension Island. There is a dashed line from Cape Canaveral to the Ascension Island that is marked as 5,000 miles. According to the attached press release the photo is a map showing the route of the intercontinental missile, Snark. The air force said the launch was the first demonstration of the true intercontinental missile's capability.
