This poster is an all-round guide for homemakers to help in the war effort. It is broken down into four sections, plan, conserve, salvage and air raid protection. Each section contains instructions and helpful hints on what to do. The plan section includes what to include in a healthy meal, how to plan meals with the current rationing, and ways to use your spare time. The conserve section includes hints such as, getting the "Victory Food Specials" and how to clean household items. It also promotes ways to save fuel, and suggestions to mend clothes instead of buying new items. The salvage section lists items that can be scrapped for the war effort, as well as how to get rid of the items properly. The air raid protection section guides you through what precautions you need to take to be safe in case of an air raid. This includes having family jobs, and staying home. It also tells you to be able to blackout your home, and what to do in case a bomb hits. It also suggests contacting the Block leader who can make sure you are aware of any plans. There are spaces for the owner of the poster to fill in their local Civilian Defense Volunteer Office, as well as their Air Raid Warden, and Block Leader.
