Addressed to "Dad." He wrote this letter on his birthday, and it's just another day closer to coming home. He thanks his father for the "swell birthday letter" and generous war bonds. He hopes to be home soon so they can catch up. He's still at twelve missions as he's been grounded with a sore wisdom tooth. Barry is doing great and he'll see him in the next few days. He asks his father to tell Bee that her letters have not come yet, but they will be forwarded eventually. It takes the mail between two-four weeks to arrive. He thanks him for the package of cookies. He writes that his father hears more from the news at home than he is allowed to write.

The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
