Addressed to "Dad, Bee, Don, Jim, Barry, Ken + ." He apologizes for not writing, but he's been in the hospital for the past three weeks to have the plate in his leg removed as it had been bothering him at the high altitudes. He's been removed from his crew, but they've been visiting him and bringing his mail. The hospital is dull and he is beginning to feel better, but gets dizzy when he sits up due to the "sulfa pills." He asks that this letter makes the rounds and he hopes to respond to everyone soon.
The letter is dated "Monday Afternoon." "Letters in a Box," notes the letter was sent on February 21, 1944. This is a handwritten copy of GLC09620.080.02.

The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
