One letter from Robert Winemiller to Leonard Eugene Graeff dated November 1, 1943. Robert writes close to lights out and asks Leonard what time he has to go to bed and if he sleeps in a hammock. He mentions having to wait to attend Officer Candidate School. He wishes Leonard a good trip home. Robert hopes he may be able to get leave around Christmas. He mentions Dottie and says there are about 25 sailors from the recruiter's office in "Hag" that are after her. He comments that he "would never have been able to marry her anyway." He asks Leonard if he knows what school he will be going to after he takes leave. Robert also mentions that he was at the rifle range the previous week and he shot a 178 out of 210, and was just 2 points off an expert sharpshooter score.
