This letter is from a soldier of the 10th company of the 161st Depot Brigade named Glenn. It is written to Alice and mentions previously being in the 80th division of the 318 infantry. He says that when they arrived they were sent right on to the front. He also mentions being sick and says he thinks it was a bit of the flu. "I think I just about had the Flu I was in bed a few days and the Doc came to see me. Lot of the boy's died there in the hospital with the Flu. I went to the Hospital one day and looked in the window at the boys and that was enough for me. Most all of my company was sick there" he goes on to mention living in French houses that were abandoned and that there was only one bed that the corporal was using, but that he got it while he was sick.
