Conner tells Nueal that he is still working in the kitchen with Jonas and "I hope I stay with him as long as I am in the Service for he is really a fine boy." He includes a picture of his unit for Nueal, and tells her the names of all the men in the picture. He says for Nueal not to tell the rest of their sisters and brother for if they "knowes I gave it to you it would make them mad because they would want one their self." Conner sends his love and closes the letter.
