Augsberger writes that he has not received a letter from Ardena's mother about him getting mad at Ardena. He says that he would not get mad at Ardena anyway because he loves her. He refers to one of Ardena's letters in which she writes about putting the baby to bed. He writes "I hope you mean Mary's baby. Or do you? If we have one I want you to tell me about it." He says that he does not want her to keep secrets from him because "you are part of me and I should know." Augsberger asks Ardena to send him a fountain pen because he lost his and "guys are funny about loaning them." He responds to Ardena's complaint that she has not received his letters by saying he tries to write to her twice a week and the letters may be getting held up some place. He tells her that he misses her terribly and sends his love.

The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
