Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Moe says he is fed up with waiting to come home. He says the whole system of deciding who gets to come home and who doesn't is ridiculous. He also writes that he enclosed a ticket from their day at the races. This ticket is not included in the collection.
