At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Sylvia says that while she is convinced that Moe has confidence in her judgment in regard to the use of the car; she has always felt that the car and its use must be subject to his okay. Says she still might be able to get a "B" gasoline ration because of her Draft Board work. Reports on friends. She found out that Moe did not receive her package that was filled with rolls of film for him. She knows that the package wasn't against regulations but someone must have opened it and took the film, which was very hard to get.
