Response to Griffin's request for the release of two slaves impressed into Confederate service. Seddon denies the request on the grounds that Griffin has not provided enough details about the circumstances of the impressment, such as who impressed the slaves and under whose charge they currently served. Written on stationary of the War Department of the Confederate States of America. Seddon was the Confederate Secretary of War.
