Includes copies of correspondence between high ranking officers and foreign diplomats and dignitaries. The book mentions or alludes to many important figures in the Revolution, including D'Estaing, Greene, Robert Howe, Lafayette, Marion, Pickens, Rawdon, Cornwallis, De Grasse, Rochambeau and Lord Stirling.
