Replies to Surveyor General of Customs for North America Randolph's inquiry about precious metals. Describes an expedition he undertook in 1690 to the Appalachian mountains. Argues that there may indeed be precious minerals there. Mentions Colonel Maurice Mathews, Chancellor of the Exchequer Montague, and William Blathwayt. Moore was Receiver General and Chief Justice of the Province of Carolina.
