Deserted the vessel the "Puritan" who re-enlisted twice--28 March 1898 and 5 September 1901 aboard the Richmond--as George W. Rogers, and served normally until discharged. Pardoned based on service to country and recommendation of the Acting Secretary of the navy. Partially handwritten. Accompanied by discharge pouch (housed separately). Countersigned by Charles J. Bonaparte.
