Foster's fatigue cap bears brass the insignia of two stars and U.S., surrounded by laurel wreath. Imprint on recto "Brady New York." Graphite inscription on verso "Major-General John C Foster" "Lossing P 276 P 122 Century Vol I 650p" "Foster."
