The earth mound in front of [to the the left in the image] the house might be the graves of horses killed in the fighting. Text on recto reads: "General Meade's Headquarters, A position of great peril, occupied by the General during the heaviest part of the conflict. It is situated on the west side of the Tanneytown road, a short distance south of the National Cemetery." The image is almost identical to the Tipton image of Meade's headquarters with a difference in cropping.
