View from Tanneytown Road. The earth mound in front of [to the the left in the image] the house might be the graves of horses killed in the fighting. Image taken in the summer of 1863, published by the Tyson Brothers. (Tipton worked for the Tyson Brothers). This image, a blue-gray mount, was published after 1902, when Tipton moved his studio to Chambersburg Street (see address on imprint). Graphite inscription on verso: "Gen'l. Meade's Headquarters -- taken in 1863. The image is almost identical to the Tyson Brothers image of Meade's headquarters with a difference in cropping.
