Written 12 miles from Richmond, Virginia. States he was very pleased to hear from Amanda, his wife, as he had not heard from her in over a week. He has been very sick, but not as sick as before. Is glad to hear that his wife has moved in with her mother. Letter is torn and missing piece of lower left hand corner.
