Robert M. T. Hunter was a Congressman and Senator from Virginia, Confederate Secretary of State, and a member of the Confederate Senate.
Howell Cobb was the Secretary of the Treasury. Had previously served as Representative and Governor of Georgia, and would later served as a Confederate Major General.
