At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Asks Blair to draft a resolution against the Bank of the United States, which he will show to his state legislature in Georgia. Objects specifically to foreign investors being involved with the Bank. Also wants the resolution to denounce those who defeated the treaty with the Cherokee nation, and those in favor of nullification. Claims that support for President Andrew Jackson is strong in his county.
