At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

John writes that the Governor is expected to leave the province some time next summer without ever meeting the new Assembly. He also informs Robert, Jr. of the goods he has shipped, and states his pleasure with the news that Robert, Jr.'s furnaces and mills are functioning again.
