Vetch writes to say that Livingston has acquired a poor reputation in England, which does not bode well for the repayment of his money. He also notes that his wife, Margaret Vetch, has informed him that Livingston has failed to answer her letters and give her financial assistance. Vetch reprimands Livingston for this and laments the fact that financial difficulties have forced Livingston to treat his children in such a manner.
