Winfield Scott's endorsement, countersigned by Henry Lee Scott on David McTeager's letter. Refers to General John A. Quitman the matter of arresting Mexican soldiers who, disguised as civilians, have returned to the neighborhood of Jesus Maria to collect arms. The conspiracy was organized by Father MacNamara, an Irish Catholic priest.
