Written by Major General Knox as Commander in Chief of the Continental Army (he succeeded Washington on 23 December 1783) to Colonel Pickering. Discusses the difficulties in obtaining sleighs and horses to collect firewood for the post at West Point. Wants Pickering to engage ten or twelve teams for the job. Requests that the actions taken be forwarded to General Henry Jackson. Includes seller's clipping.
