Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Informs Seymour that he will soon be forwarding him an order rescinding the resignation of First Lieutenant Frank W. Lyon, and reinstating him to his former position. One bust engraving of Ferrero included as collateral.

Horatio Seymour was the Governor of New York.
Edward Ferrerro was a Union Brigadier General of Volunteers.
