Forwards letters and tells Knox about the people he has been seeing lately. Also mentions that "[s]ome members inform me that a Congress of Seven States will be formed an Wednesday or Thursday next week," which could refer to the Congressional meeting for the Northwest Ordinance.

Enclosed are two Letters of a private kind one is also received from Genl. Jackson on public business. Some members inform me that a Congress of Seven states will be formed on Wednesday or Thursday next. You have an Invitation in the name of the President to dine on the 4th July.
Young Mr. Breck, son of Mr. S. Breck of Boston breakfasts with me this morng he arrived in the Packet after an absence of five years from his family. Mrs. de la Forest I have seen and conversed with she appears an amiable woman, but not beautiful. I did not address to you at Phila. after your return there from Trenton having nothing particular to communicate; - According to your plans I suppose this letter will find you at Colo Ogdens returned from Bethlehem, this evening, and tomorrow you will progress homeward.
