Writes, "By the bearer of this Capt Lotteridge I send a quantity of Plank, Boards and Tar, which he is to land at Wappens Creek - I must request you will please to forward the letter directed to his Excellency by express." Sends his compliments to Mrs. Knox. Reports in a post-script dated 7 October 1782 that this morning his daughter Cate [Catharine Alexander] "complimented Mr. [William] Duer with a very fine son" and asks Knox to tell the news to Mrs. Knox.
