At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

News about his life at school and the formation of an athletic club. Each member of the group put in 50 cents to purchase a trapeze [from which he fell and muddied his clothing] and "rops with iron rings at the end of them" which you would swing from. Aaron also mentions a "...thing that I never saw before called a whirligig and an acting bar."
