Harrison thanks Heaton for his continued support. He describes at length a "project" by "political friends" and others to denounce him so as to destroy his chances for election to the Senate. States that, "There is no one I believe who knows me that can for a moment entertain the opinion that I would change my political principles for personal advantage." Letter addressed to Heaton in Butler County, Ohio.
