Full title is: "Three years in the Sixth Corps. A Concise Narrative of Events in the Army of the Potomac, from 1861 to the Close of the Rebellion, April 1865." Published by D. Van Nostrand in New York. Printed by Weed, Parsons and Company at 18 North Pearl Street in Albany, New York. Written by Stevens as the surgeon of the 77th Regiment of New York Volunteers. Says the book is written mostly from extensive notes he took "amid the scenes described." Says engravings in the book are all from sketches taken by the author and the artist Captain J. Hope, who submitted finishing touches all the sketches. Contains 17 illustrations with a portrait of Major General John Sedgwick, commander of the Corps, opposite the title page. List of the illustrations on page v. Divided into 33 chapters that cover all the major battles in the Eastern Theatre of the Civil War. Blank pages replaced in front and back of book during a repair. Green cloth cover.
