At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Broadside consists of information on the arrangement of Lincoln's funeral procession. Includes details on the order in which participants of the procession will walk. Also includes requests such as the closing of all businesses at 10 a.m. and that a mourning badge be worn duing the procession. The program is for the funeral procession held in Washington, D.C. A small dried flower is included with the document.
