E.O.C. Ord (1818-1883) was a Major General in the United States Army and designer of Fort Sam Houston. In January of 1865, he assumed command of the Army of the James, as well as the Department of North Carolina.
James Longstreet (1821-1904) was a distinguished Confederate general who led the Army of Northern Virginia I Corps.
