Bingham, William, 1752-1804
Autograph letter signed
Title: to Henry Knox
References Knox's letter of 5 January. Has made some progress in the negotiations. The committee "are now at Issue with us on some Points, which they insist upon." Can not yet determine the result, but hopes tomorrow's interview will "insure a favorable Termination of the Difficulties." Reports that from inquiries he has made, the land appears to be excellent. Is charmed with the manners of the people of Boston. Has still not sent the titles to Madame de Leval. Docket notes the letter was received by Knox on 21 January. "Free" stamped on address leaf with no signature.
